One of the Sanctuary’s friends just sent us this clip from Francis Chan entitled Fearless. It encouraged us so much because it reminds us of the kingdom concept of almost reckless generosity that we try to embody here – seeking to ‘waste’ everything on Christ, and the seven billion people alive today made in his image. Because that’s what Jesus did – he wasted everything on us.
We share it for inspiration, provocation and for challenge.
Because we are also experiencing God’s incredible provision as we seek to give and give and give…
Because we too want to celebrate how good he is…
And also, because of a particular line in this clip that rings so desperately true for us. In our culture, so often it’s only an emergency if it effects us… people are dying today so why am I worrying about where I will be in 30 years time?
Lord Jesus, please, please help us to look like you again…
Or as this same friend just emailed, ‘We just have to trust and be brave enough to follow his calling… Bring on generosity without limits’.
