loving unity

Wednesday 18 January marks the start of CTBI’s annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which this year takes the theme “We will all be changed” from the churches in Poland. The coming week provides another chance for our churches to bring each other, our relationships, and our work together, before God in prayer.

Loving unity

As you reflect on, and pray for, church unity within congregations, and between denominations locally and nationally over the coming week and beyond you might also find the following resources helpful:

Section eight of our Outward focused song index

– The songs “We are in Christ” and “Your family”, both available here

– And our newly updated written prayers of thanksgiving, intercession and blessing for church unity.

We’ve recently been inspired by the lyrics of Casting Crowns’ recently released song City on the hill, and particularly by the lines:

“It is the rhythm of the dancers
That gives the poets life
It is the spirit of the poets
That gives the soldiers strength to fight
It is the fire of the young ones
It is the wisdom of the old
It is the story of the poor man
That’s needing to be told.”

What would the impact be on our society, and our world, if we were inspired and strengthened by each other in this way?

If we owned each other’s visions and callings as our own because they are all to serve the same Lord, might we again be known by our love?
