After a third night of rioting , please pray for peace and order in London and our other major cities.
Father God, healer of nations,
We lift our nation to you –
And we ask you for the miracle of peace today
In hearts that are fearful, circumstances that are desperate
And on city streets where violence and looting have seized the imagination of some of our young people.
Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace,
We bring to you all who have been rioting in the last few days –
And we ask you for the miracle of peace in their hearts tonight.
We know that you understand every injustice, every feeling of frustration and anger,
And even the un-thinking acts of opportunists – soften their hearts please.
Holy Spirit, God with us,
We ask you to cover our nation’s cities tonight,
With your presence, your love, and your life-giving power.
In Jesus’ name, we speak peace to London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Nottingham, Liverpool, Leeds and Salford
And pray for your protection and wisdom for our police there, and in other centres of influence in our nation.
In the midst of financial struggles, cuts, unemployment, reduced opportunities and confusion,
Come oh Lord – bring your peace that passes understanding, and shine your light, and your way, in our nation once again.
